    Biographical note:

Marta Traquino (1972) is an artist and researcher in contemporary art. 2012: Ph.D in Public Art, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. 2007: M.A. in Communication, Culture and Information Technologies, ISCTE, Lisbon. 1995: Degree in Fine Arts – Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. In 2013 she starts her theory and practice post-doctoral research designated "For a reflective practice of a 'conversable art’ in the public domain." Her research is centred on artistic practices which approach Space and Place in urban context, with emphasis on current reconfigurations of Experience, of Memory and of Identity, and has been supported by the FCT since the M.A.. She participates in international conferences whose themes relate Contemporary Art with Social Sciences and Humanities for the critical thinking about cities today. Since 1995 she has been teaching courses and workshops in the practical and theoretical fields of Contemporary Art in several institutions. Her artistic practice consists of installations and proposals for actions that act as 'ephemeral architectures' which catalyze the perception/relation of the individual in relation with the 'permanent architectures' where it lies, in attention to pre-existing data in a situation of ‘micro-context’ potentially transferable to a “macro-context”, from the personal to the social dimension.
